Report on World Environment Day Observation

World Environment Day was observed at Sabarigiri High School on 5 June 2026 in the afternoon with the active participation of student teachers, school students, and teachers. The programme aimed to create awareness about environmental conservation and promote eco-friendly practices among students.
The programme commenced with anchoring by Veena, followed by the NSS Song presented by Shahina and Abhirami. Kavya delivered the welcome speech and formally welcomed the gathering.
The stage and venue were beautifully decorated using natural materials. Arathy prepared an attractive background chart, while Fathima (S.S.), Anaswara, and Rosy arranged the stage decorations along with the NSS banner. Devayaani, Ankitha, and Gouri Shankar prepared eco-friendly welcome decorations using natural materials.
The theme poster for World Environment Day 2026 was prepared by Ancy, and Sradha delivered a brief speech explaining the theme. Megha presented the history of World Environment Day through a PowerPoint presentation consisting of five slides. Gowri Vinod delivered the Environment Day message supported by a five-slide presentation.
Aparna presented a theme-based video followed by a speech highlighting the importance of environmental protection. Fathima (English) conducted an innovative activity featuring a two-minute nature audio presentation with complete silence, helping students develop a deeper love and appreciation for nature. This was followed by a brief concluding talk.
An eco-friendly product-making demonstration was conducted by Thasneem, who taught students how to create useful items from newspapers and other simple materials. Devika led the Environmental Pledge, encouraging students to adopt environmentally responsible practices.
Alaka and Aleena prepared and distributed thirty environmental quote slips to students and encouraged them to read and present the quotes. An exhibition of thirty-six colourful environment-related posters prepared by all student teachers was arranged by Sreelekshmi, Anupama, Sinimol, and Aswini. Vishnupriya, Rosy, and Anaswara maintained discipline and coordinated student participation during the exhibition.
As part of the concluding session, Bhavya handed over a plant sapling to a student from the audience and delivered a message on the importance of nurturing nature. Felicitations were offered by Jaseena Teacher and Sreedevi Teacher. Adithya proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme successfully created environmental awareness among students and inspired them to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. The observation of World Environment Day was meaningful, informative, and well appreciated by all participants.
